The 10 Keys to Personal Power
Brian Tracy

Key 1: Clarity

"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

This is very straight forward you have to have a goal in life. If you don't then you have nothing to aim for or do. In that case your life will just be  boring. If you don't have goal then you have nothing to aim for. Therefor you will work for someone who does. Somebodies goal could be to own a clothing store. Maybe one day they succeed and you'll end up working for them and that's not a good thing. You always not be at the top. You want to do your best to live the best life you possibly can. Set some goal and start working towards them to be successful. Achieve all the great things in life you want to. You have to know what you want in life.

"Take advantage of every opportunity to practice your communication skills so that when important occasions arise, you will have the gift, the style, the sharpness, the clarity, and the emotions to affect other people."
- Jim Rohn

Key 3: Concentration

"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "Is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."

Key 4: Common Sense

  • Train your mind
  • think things through
  • listen to your intuition
  • learn from setbacks
Common sense is something you naturally have. Not everybody uses it though is the problem. It is easy to use but not many of us use it. You need to train your mind to use it correctly. Always thing of the outcome and or income of your decisions. Listen to what your soul and body are telling you.

Key 7: Consistency

"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."

"Be consistent in your relationships, your family friends your boss, your work. Be the person that people can depend upon. That if you say you'll do something you do it..."

Consistency is a very simple yet hard thing to do. Consistency means to frequently or always do, For example be consistence with your homework, classwork, job and etc. Repeat things that are good and benefit you and those around you. Always do constant good work and good deeds.

Key 8: Commitment

"No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commitment to yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."

"Become totally absorbed in your work. Be totally committed."

Commitment is a very powerful word and simple. It's hard to understand the mean and do it's purpose. Commitment means the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc. In my opinion it means to have the heart to always manage to succeed in what you want. If you are committed then that means you have bright things set for your future. If you're committed then you are going to accomplish many things. Committment is very powerful in order to achieve goals. If you are commited then you are willing to do every thing it takes that is the only way you'll ever start achieving goals.

"We, the People, recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights; that our destinies are bound together; that a freedom which only asks what's in it for me, a freedom without a commitment to others, a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism, is unworthy of our founding ideals, and those who died in their defense."

-Barack Obama

Key 9: Courage

"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for the failure in life."

To have courage is very powerful. The definition of courage is the ability to do something that frightens one. Also means strength in the face of pain or grief. If you have courage then you're not afraid of failing. If you do fail then you are just going to try again. You shouldn't be afraid of failure. Learn from your failure and do better. Have the courage to be and do better.

Key 10: Confidence

"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."

To be confident means the state of feeling certain about the truth of something. It also means to a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities. It can also mean rely on something or someone a deep trust. To be very a certain of something or someone. To not be afraid believe in yourself, trust that you can. The more times you do something the easier it gets more confident you are with doing it. Being confident is very powerful key with very deep meaning. Always be confident that you can succeed and always do better to accomplish goals.

"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence."
- Helen Keller

Reflection

The ten keys to personal power in my opinion are very simple traits/characteristics that are also effective. My favorite keys are courage, confidence, commitment, and concentration. I honestly think i have a little bit of most if not all of these keys. I do need to improve or work towards them because is really powerful. If you have very single one of these keys then there is nothing stopping you from reaching your goals in life. Right now i do think i have clarity, confidence, common sense and a little bit of the rest nut i just need to work on improving them a lot more. I really have to work on being very committed, have courage, be more confident and concentrated so that i am able to complete or do anything i want to in life. I should start applying these more in my every day life to be able to work to most of my Life planning goals. They're very motivational and powerful.
